How ravan got shiv atmaling

Once upon a time, there was a powerful demon king named Ravana who ruled over the island kingdom of Lanka. Despite his immense strength and wealth, Ravana was filled with arrogance and believed himself to be invincible. He wanted to prove his superiority over the gods and decided to perform an elaborate ritual to win the favor of Lord Shiva.

Ravana was determined to bring Lord Shiva's Atma Lingam, a powerful symbol of the god's divine energy, to Lanka. The Atma Lingam was said to be guarded by Lord Vishnu himself, and no one had ever been able to acquire it. Undeterred, Ravana began to perform a series of penances and austerities to please Lord Shiva, hoping that the god would grant him the boon of the Atma Lingam.

For several years, Ravana performed intense penances and meditations, standing on one leg and fasting for days on end. His prayers were so powerful that Lord Shiva appeared before him and asked him what he wanted. Ravana requested the Atma Lingam, and Lord Shiva agreed to give it to him on the condition that it be placed on the ground once it left Lord Shiva's hands. Ravana agreed and received the Atma Lingam from Lord Shiva.

However, Lord Vishnu knew that Ravana would use the Atma Lingam to gain more power and cause destruction. So, he hatched a plan to prevent Ravana from succeeding. He approached Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife, and requested her help. Goddess Parvati agreed to help, and she disguised herself as a young girl and went to Ravana.

When Ravana was about to place the Atma Lingam on the ground, the young girl approached him and asked him for water to drink. Ravana, in his haste, handed her the Atma Lingam and went to fetch the water. However, when he returned, the girl had vanished along with the Atma Lingam.

Ravana realized he had been tricked and was filled with rage. He searched for the Atma Lingam everywhere but couldn't find it. Finally, he realized that he had been outsmarted by Lord Vishnu and Goddess Parvati. He returned to Lanka empty-handed and humiliated.

The story of Ravana and the Atma Lingam teaches us that even the most powerful beings can be humbled by their own arrogance and hubris. It also reminds us that even the gods and goddesses have a role to play in ensuring that justice and righteousness prevail.
