Yama pulled on the noose with all his might, but the Shiva Linga remained firmly in Markandeya's grasp. Lord Shiva was pleased with Markandeya's devotion and appeared before him. He asked Yama to release Markandeya and blessed the young boy with immortality.

Markandeya was overjoyed and continued to worship Lord Shiva with even greater devotion. He lived a long and fulfilling life, spreading the teachings of Lord Shiva and inspiring others to follow the path of devotion.
