The temple complex is comprised of three caves where the goddess is believed to have appeared to Shridhar. The first cave is the Garbh Joon Cave, where the goddess is worshipped as the embodiment of creative power. The second cave is the Devi Darshan Cave, where the goddess is worshipped as the embodiment of wealth and prosperity. The third and final cave is the Bhairon Temple, which is dedicated to Bhairon Nath, a demon who was defeated by the goddess.

The temple attracts millions of devotees every year, especially during the Navratri festival. The festival is celebrated twice a year, in the months of Chaitra and Ashwin, and lasts for nine days. During this time, the temple is beautifully decorated and there are various cultural performances and other religious events.

In recent years, the temple has undergone significant improvements in terms of infrastructure and facilities. There are now various accommodation options available for pilgrims, as well as medical facilities and clean drinking water.
